Data-centre server & rack transport

Data-centre deployments demand coordination. We handle full-scale rack transport: disassembly, secure packaging, same-day or scheduled delivery, and re-installation support. Our drivers are briefed on rack safety, cable management, and out-of-hours access protocols. We work with your data-centre provider to align collection and installation windows, minimising downtime.

Whether you are moving a single rack unit from a supplier to a London data centre or orchestrating a multi-unit server deployment, we manage the logistics. Change control is where technical courier work either succeeds or fails. Most colocation providers require change requests submitted 24 to 48 hours in advance, with defined maintenance windows — typically the 22:00 to 06:00 overnight slot. Our dispatch coordinates directly with your data-centre engineer or NOC to align pickup, transit, and installation timings against the approved window. Where the receiving cage requires escorted access, pass sponsorship or vendor-of-record forms are handled ahead of collection to avoid stalled deliveries at the loading bay.

Physical handling matters. Our vans carry pallet trucks and tail-lifts for kerb-to-floor movement, and drivers are briefed on cold-aisle etiquette, anti-static handling for exposed components, and cage-locking procedures. For heavier rack units — full 42U cabinets or blade chassis exceeding 400kg — we schedule two-person crews or coordinate with your on-site engineering team. Cable management, PSU orientation, and rail-kit inventories are checked against manifest at both ends. We do not, however, provide qualified electrical connection work — mains PDU and switchgear termination remain with the data-centre provider or your appointed contractor.

Reverse logistics: returns, repairs & RMA flows

Technical equipment does not always travel forward. Warranty returns, repair-centre loops, and supplier refunds all require reverse logistics: customer to repair depot, repair depot to distributor, distributor back to customer. These cycles demand accuracy and chain-of-custody discipline.

The bridge is a well-worn path. Server vendors ship next-day-air from EMEA distribution — Dell out of Limerick, HPE out of Erskine, Lenovo out of European nodes — into Heathrow Cargo Terminal via express integrators. Cisco and Juniper networking spares typically transit from Amsterdam via KLM Cargo. Non-EU vendors — often US chassis manufacturers or specialist storage OEMs — arrive via BA Cargo or Virgin Atlantic freight into Heathrow, with clearance handled by our nominated agent.

Where the shipment includes internal lithium-ion batteries — most modern server management controllers and cache-backup units contain them — we handle UN3481 IATA DGR paperwork end-to-end.
