T&C Logistics moves luggage between a UK hotel and an airport in either direction on a dedicated vehicle. A concierge releases the bags on your instruction and signs; at the airport you meet the driver landside in arrivals or departures. The deadline that governs the booking is the flight, not the hotel's check-out. One fixed price from £50 ex VAT.

Specialist transport — UK sector context

Hotel to Airport Luggage — and Airport to Hotel typically involves the sectors below. Companies House counts give a sense of the UK market we can dispatch to — same-day.

The gap that creates this job is a scheduling one. Hotel check-out falls in the late morning and flights do not, so a departing guest is left carrying 23 kg of luggage around a city for most of a day — or paying for a day room purely to store it. Arriving guests have the reverse problem: the bag lands before the room is ready. T&C Logistics moves the luggage separately in either direction, hotel to airport or airport to hotel, with a concierge handover at one end, a landside handover at the other, and a signature at both.

Why not just leave the bags with the hotel?

Most hotels will store luggage for a departing guest on the day of check-out at no charge, and where that solves the problem it is the cheaper answer and we will say so. It stops solving it in three cases: when you are not coming back to the hotel before the flight, when you are moving on to a meeting or another city rather than returning, and when the bag has to be at a terminal for a check-in you will not be arriving from the hotel for. The courier earns its place when the bag and the person take different routes, not when they take the same one.

Which direction does the booking actually run?

Both, and the operational constraint is different each way. This is the single most useful distinction to get right when you book, because it decides what we need from you.

DirectionGoverning deadlineWhat we need from you
Hotel to airportCheck-in close for your flightFlight number, terminal, who at the hotel releases the bags
Airport to hotelWhen you clear the baggage hallFlight number, terminal, hotel reservation name
Hotel to a later flight, same dayThe flight, not the check-outWhether anyone will be at the terminal to receive
Airport to hotel before check-inHotel's willingness to holdConfirmation the hotel will store against your booking

The common mistake is to give us the check-out time. Check-out tells us when the bags become available; it does not tell us when they are needed.

Can the driver hand luggage to me at the terminal?

Yes, landside, in the departures or arrivals area. We hold no airside credentials and do not claim any, so the handover is always on the public side of security. For a departure that means the driver meets you before you check in, and you then check the bags in yourself — an airline will not accept checked baggage from a courier on a passenger's behalf, because the person flying has to present their own bags. That constraint is the airline's, not ours, and it is the reason a hotel-to-airport luggage job ends at the terminal rather than at the aircraft.

Who releases the bags at the hotel?

A concierge, porter or duty manager, on your instruction and against a signature. Three things make it go smoothly: name the driver with the hotel in advance, leave the bags labelled with your name and the reservation reference, and tell the hotel the collection is authorised in writing rather than by phone from an unknown number. A hotel will not release a guest's property to a driver who simply arrives, and it is right not to. Where you are still at the hotel, you hand over and sign yourself, which is simplest.

What if my room is not ready when the bags arrive?

The hotel holds them, and that is worth confirming before you book. A hotel will almost always store luggage against a confirmed reservation in the guest's name, including before check-in, but it is a courtesy rather than an obligation and an unconfirmed booking is the case where it fails. Give us the reservation name and reference, and we deliver into storage with the concierge signing. Where there is no reservation yet, we price a timed delivery to a window you can meet instead of attempting a delivery nobody can accept.

Which UK airports and hotel districts does this cover?

Any UK airport with a public arrivals and departures area, and any hotel with a reception. The volume concentrates on the corridors where airport and hotel districts are far enough apart to make carrying bags genuinely awkward.

How many bags, and which vehicle?

A standard large checked suitcase is about 75 × 50 × 30 cm with a typical 23 kg airline allowance, so four fit a small van and volume runs out long before the 500 kg payload does. A couple with two cases and two cabin bags is a small-van job; a family of five is an SWB; a tour group is an LWB or larger. Declare the longest item separately — a golf travel cover at 130 cm or a ski bag at 170–200 cm decides the vehicle on its own. Capacity detail on small van and large van, and more on sending luggage.

Is the luggage insured between the hotel and the terminal?

Yes, from signature to signature. Goods in transit are insured to £50,000 on our own vehicles and up to £1,000,000 where a consignment moves via partner carriers, with public liability cover of £1,000,000. Unlike a taxi, which is licensed to carry passengers and the luggage travelling with them and carries no goods-in-transit cover on your property, a courier insures the bags as freight. Declare laptops, camera bodies or jewellery inside a case at booking. Cover terms, exclusions and the claims process are in our terms and conditions.

What does a hotel-to-airport luggage job cost?

One fixed price per dedicated job, quoted in full before you book, from £50 ex VAT, fuel and goods-in-transit cover included, no hidden fees.

Cost driverEffect on this job
Distance between hotel and terminalThe largest single factor
Number and size of bagsFour large cases is the small-van ceiling
Timed delivery against a flightA fixed arrival costs more than a flexible one
Waiting at reception or a terminalA concierge who cannot release on arrival, or a delayed flight
Airport car park chargesShort-stay bays are charged by the period
Out-of-hours and weekendEarly departures and late arrivals fall outside the standard window
London chargesCongestion Charge £15 per day; ULEZ £12.50 per day for a non-compliant vehicle, and our fleet is compliant

Can you collect from one hotel and deliver to another instead?

Yes, and that is a different scheduling problem rather than a different drive, because check-out and check-in rarely overlap. The bags leave the first hotel when you check out and arrive at the second before you do, so you travel between the two unencumbered — by train, on foot or in a meeting. We cover that pattern in full on the hotel-to-hotel luggage page, including multi-stop UK itineraries where bags move ahead of the traveller city by city.

How do I book, and what if my flight moves?

Five steps. (1) Give the direction — hotel to airport, or airport to hotel. (2) Give the flight number and terminal, so the driver works to the actual time rather than the scheduled one. (3) Give the hotel name, reservation name and the person releasing or receiving the bags. (4) Say how many bags and flag anything longer than a suitcase. (5) Receive one fixed price before the job is accepted. If the flight moves, tell us as early as you can: a delay we know about is a rescheduled collection, a delay we learn about at the terminal is waiting time. Enquiries are taken around the clock and answered between 06:00 and 22:00, seven days a week — quote form or WhatsApp.

How is this different from a taxi or an airport transfer?

A taxi carries you and the bags together; a courier carries the bags while you go elsewhere. That is the whole distinction, and it decides which one you want. Three practical differences follow. A taxi is licensed for passengers and the luggage accompanying them, and holds no goods-in-transit cover on your property, whereas a courier insures the bags as freight from signature to signature. A taxi will not wait at a hotel for a concierge to locate four cases and sign for them. And a taxi cannot deliver to a hotel where you are not yet staying, because there is nobody in the vehicle to hand the bags to a receptionist. Where you and the bags travel together, take the taxi.

Can you move luggage for a departing group on the same morning?

Yes, and a group departure is a manifest job rather than a driving job. Twenty delegates checking out of one hotel for one flight is roughly 2.2 cubic metres and 460 kg of luggage — an LWB van — and the work is in tagging each case to a named passenger so the terminal handover can be reconciled before anyone joins a check-in queue. Give us a numbered list, and the driver delivers against it with the group leader signing once rather than twenty times. The reverse works for an arriving group: bags go to the hotel and are sorted to rooms while the group is still clearing the baggage hall.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you check my bags in at the airport for me?
No, and no courier can. An airline requires the passenger to present their own checked baggage, so a hotel-to-airport luggage job ends with a landside handover in the departures area and you check the bags in yourself. That constraint comes from the airline rather than from us. We also hold no airside credentials, so every handover is on the public side of security.
The hotel will store my bags for free — why pay a courier?
Where you are returning to the hotel before your flight, you should use the hotel and we will tell you so. The courier earns its place when the bag and the person take different routes: you move on to a meeting or another city, or the bag has to reach a terminal you are not travelling to the hotel from. Free storage solves a waiting problem, not a routing one.
What time should I give you — my check-out or my flight?
The flight, and the terminal with it. Check-out tells us when the bags become available; the flight tells us when they are needed, and the second is what we schedule against. Give both if you like, but if you give only one, give the flight number — the driver then works to the live departure or arrival time rather than the printed schedule.
My room is not ready until the afternoon. Can the bags still arrive earlier?
Yes, provided the hotel will hold them, which almost every hotel will do against a confirmed reservation in the guest's name. Give us the reservation name and reference so the concierge can accept and sign. Where the booking is not yet confirmed, that is the case where storage is refused, so we price a timed delivery to a window you can meet instead.
Can a hotel release my bags to your driver while I am out?
Yes, with written authorisation and the driver named in advance. Label the bags with your name and reservation reference and tell the hotel in writing that the collection is authorised — a hotel will not release a guest's property to a driver who simply arrives, and it is right not to. Where you are present, you hand over and sign yourself, which is simpler and faster.
What happens to the price if my flight is delayed?
A delay we are told about early becomes a rescheduled collection at no change. A delay we discover at the terminal becomes waiting time, which is a cost driver quoted on the job. For an arrival, the driver tracks the live flight time from the flight number, so a delayed landing is handled automatically; it is the unannounced change of plan rather than the delay itself that costs money.
