Sustainability & ESG at T&C Logistics 2026
Updated July 2026
T&C Logistics operates a ULEZ-compliant fleet, runs electric vans, and partners with Ecologi to offset carbon from same-day courier operations. We're transparent about our progress: sustainability is a journey, not a destination.

Founded in 2020, T&C Logistics had sustainability baked into our Thames Valley model from day one. Our same-day courier and logistics network now spans ULEZ-compliant vehicles, electric vans, and carbon-offset partnerships. This page outlines where we are in 2026, what we've learned, and where we're headed—without greenwashing claims we can't back up.

The UK logistics sector represents over 120,000 businesses (26,550 dedicated warehousing firms, 10,776 postal-courier operators, and 88,659 transport-logistics companies), according to ONS data. That scale means fleet decisions matter. We're committed to being part of the solution.

Our ULEZ-Compliant Fleet: The Foundation

All T&C Logistics vehicles meet or exceed Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) standards. This isn't a marketing badge—it's operationally non-negotiable for our London and Thames Valley routes.

The UK's air quality standards have tightened consistently. The Department for Transport and environmental bodies track emissions across the 120,000+ logistics operators nationwide. By maintaining a 100% ULEZ-compliant fleet, we reduce particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) that contributes to poor air quality in urban centres. Our drivers and clients in Zone 1 benefit from cleaner air.

Every vehicle undergoes quarterly compliance checks. Non-compliant vans are retired or retrofitted, never operated.

Electric Vans: Scaling Beyond Compliance

Compliance is a floor, not a ceiling. Our EV van rollout began in 2023 and now represents 35% of our active fleet. Electric vans cut tailpipe emissions to zero and reduce operational noise—crucial for early-morning and late-evening deliveries in residential areas.

EV adoption in UK logistics remains modest: only 3–5% of the 88,659 transport-logistics companies operate electric vehicles at scale. We're investing in charging infrastructure at our Thames Valley depot and partnering with public networks to enable longer-range operations.

Real challenges remain: EV range limits heavy loads, rapid charging is still evolving, and upfront costs are significant. We're transparent about these constraints and won't claim EVs are a silver bullet.

Ecologi Partnership: Carbon Offset in Action

Since Q3 2024, T&C Logistics has partnered with Ecologi to offset carbon emissions from our same-day courier and express logistics operations. Each courier run and delivery is logged, and a corresponding amount is offset through verified tree-planting projects and renewable energy initiatives.

This partnership is not a substitute for fleet decarbonisation—it's complementary. We reduce emissions directly via ULEZ compliance and EVs; we offset residual emissions through Ecologi's verified portfolio. Clients can request carbon-offset confirmation on their delivery invoices.

As our founder states: "We refuse to call ourselves 'carbon neutral' because we're not yet. But we're intentional about every tonne we offset and every EV we deploy. Honesty builds trust faster than marketing jargon."

Hazmat, Cold Chain & Responsible Operations

T&C Logistics handles ADR-hazardous goods, pharmaceutical cold-chain logistics, and biological sample transport. Sustainability in these sectors is non-negotiable: leakage, spillage, or temperature excursions harm both the environment and public health.

Our cold-chain fleet uses R449A refrigerants (lower GWP than older alternatives) and real-time temperature logging to eliminate waste. Pharmaceutical clients benefit from precise route planning, reducing fuel spend and emissions per consignment.

The UK pharmaceutical and biotech sector relies on temperature-controlled logistics: every unnecessary mile adds cost and carbon. Our AOG aviation and Heathrow air-freight services prioritize consolidation to reduce air-cargo emissions per shipment.

Data, Transparency & Continuous Improvement

We track three core metrics quarterly:

  • Fleet emissions (kg CO₂e per delivery) – baseline 2023, trend tracked monthly.
  • EV utilisation rate – currently 35%; target 50% by end-2026.
  • Carbon offset volume – currently 950 tonnes CO₂e offset YTD via Ecologi.

These are published in our annual transparency report (available via /contact#quote-form). We don't hide bad quarters or slower-than-expected EV adoption. Real progress is irregular.

The UK logistics sector generated approximately 30 million tonnes of CO₂e in 2022 (DfT data). Our ~2,500-tonne annual footprint is modest, but we're working to shrink it year-on-year through measurable actions, not rhetoric.

What We're Still Working On: The Honest Section

Sustainability is work in progress. Areas where we're still learning:

  • Last-mile distance optimisation: AI-routing can reduce mileage by 8–12%, but implementation requires integration with customer order systems. We're piloting this with 5 high-volume clients in 2026.
  • Supplier emissions: We're mapping Scope 3 emissions (fuel suppliers, vehicle manufacturers, maintenance partners). Full visibility is 18+ months away.
  • EV charging at customer sites: Some clients have depot charging; others don't. We're negotiating with logistics parks to expand access.
  • Packaging & returns: We don't manufacture packaging, but we encourage clients to use recycled cardboard and reusable containers. No mandatory standards yet—we're learning what's realistic.

We won't claim net-zero or carbon neutrality until verified by independent audit. Until then, we measure, report, and iterate.

2026 Roadmap: What's Next

By end-2026, we're targeting:

  • 50% EV van utilisation (up from 35%)
  • Full Scope 1 & 2 emissions reporting (verified third-party)
  • Renewable energy supply to Thames Valley depot (50% minimum)
  • Customer carbon-reporting API (clients can see emissions per shipment)
  • Expansion of hazmat cold-chain to zero-leakage standard across 100% of runs

These are stretch goals, not guarantees. We'll update progress quarterly.

"Every consignment we run is treated as the family or business-critical asset it is. Signed proof of delivery, GPS tracking on every vehicle, and a driver briefing per assignment — that's the standard we hold, whether the job is a Saturday cake to a Gower venue or an AOG spare to Heathrow." —Taras, Founder, T&C Logistics

Questions

Are you carbon neutral or net zero?
Not yet. We operate a ULEZ-compliant fleet, run 35% electric vans, and offset residual emissions via Ecologi. We're transparent: we won't claim carbon neutrality until independently verified. Honesty matters more than marketing.
Can I request a carbon-offset confirmation for my delivery?
Yes. All same-day courier and express logistics shipments via T&C Logistics are offset through our Ecologi partnership. Request confirmation on your invoice or contact us at +44 7963 400173 (06:00–17:00) or +44 7737 778964 (08:00–22:00).
Do your electric vans handle hazmat or temperature-controlled loads?
EV technology is improving, but current EV vans have weight and range limits. We use EVs primarily for standard same-day courier runs in urban areas. Hazmat (ADR) and cold-chain shipments continue to use compliant diesel-electric hybrid and traditional ULEZ vehicles. We're monitoring EV-refrigeration innovation closely.
How do I see your sustainability metrics?
Annual transparency reports are available via our website (tclogistics.uk). We track fleet emissions, EV utilisation, and carbon-offset volume quarterly. Contact us to request the latest data or discuss specific ESG requirements for your contract.
