Why does moisture matter?
Because bearings are steel with a preservative coating, and condensation defeats it. A bearing left in a damp vehicle or a wet site container corrodes on the raceway, which is the one surface that cannot tolerate it.

Can you deliver into a working plant?
Yes, and industrial sites have their own procedures rather than a goods-in convention. Many require an induction, some require permits, and most have a designated delivery point some distance from the machine that needs the part.
The recurring problem is the last hundred metres. A part delivered to a central stores in a large plant may take hours to reach the maintenance team waiting for it, which is the most common way a delivery is technically on time and practically useless.

What about heavy single items?
Large bearings, gearboxes and geared motors are heavy enough to need two people and a tail lift, and oil-filled units add a constraint: they travel upright.

Are any of these items classified?

Can you support a planned shutdown?
Yes, and shutdowns are the best-planned work in this sector. A plant closing for a fortnight of maintenance knows months ahead what it will need, and the parts should arrive in the week of the shutdown rather than a month before.
The reason is storage and damage. Parts delivered early sit in a stores area, get moved, get borrowed and occasionally get lost, and precision components do not benefit from any of that. Delivery aligned to the shutdown programme keeps them boxed until they are fitted.
