Our service covers the full range of dental lab courier consignments between UK practices and labs. Weight and size range: typical consignments are 0.5-5 kg, boxed by the practice or lab in standard courier boxes. Larger denture-lab consignments (multi-case pickups from a busy practice) can be 10-15 kg. We handle all standard courier-box sizes without specialist equipment. Fragile consignments (crowns, veneers) are handled with driver-briefed care but do not require refrigeration or specialist thermal control at UK ambient temperatures — the products are stable in normal transit conditions.

Typical customer scenarios

Practice-to-lab impression pickup, same-day: a London dental practice completes a full-arch impression at 15:30 for a crown case — the impression needs to reach the dental lab in Reading for the technician to start work that evening (with the finished crown returning to the practice on Thursday for the patient's appointment). We collect from the practice, deliver to the lab, and provide signed POD to both practice and lab.

Lab-to-practice finished-work delivery: a Reading dental lab has completed a set of 8 anterior veneers for a Manchester practice. Delivery must reach the practice by 09:00 Wednesday for the patient's fitting appointment. We collect from the lab Tuesday afternoon, run overnight or early-morning to Manchester, and hand-deliver before 09:00 with signed POD.

Orthodontic aligner monthly cycle: a busy orthodontic clinic has a monthly aligner-manufacture cycle with a lab in Central Europe (aligners are typically manufactured offshore for cost). We do the UK ground leg — clinic to airport cargo handler for outbound impressions/scans and inbound finished aligners. We coordinate landside pickup with Swissport, Menzies, dnata, DHL, Kuehne+Nagel or DB Schenker at Heathrow.

Multi-practice pickup for a lab: a dental lab in the West Midlands has 12 partner practices in a 40-mile radius. Rather than have each practice book individual couriers, the lab contracts with us for a daily multi-practice pickup — one driver runs a fixed route each afternoon, collecting impressions and returning finished work in the same round. Practices and lab benefit from predictable timing and consolidated billing.

Chain of custody and paperwork

Signed POD by the named recipient (practice reception or lab goods-in) at every hand-off. GPS-tracked vehicle with dispatch live view. NDA-briefed drivers — dental practices and labs handle patient-identifiable material (case names, patient IDs on impression trays, patient photographs in digital-scan folders), and confidentiality is a professional obligation we build into every consignment.

Photographic POD available on request — some labs request timestamped photo of the consignment at hand-off for their own quality-control record. Consignment notes emailed to both practice and lab within an hour of delivery. Where a practice has specific pickup-window requirements (many practices only release courier consignments during their reception window), we build the collection time around their schedule.

Vehicles and equipment

Our fleet for this service is ULEZ-compliant vans, estate cars and (for multi-practice fixed routes) larger 3.5t Luton vans where volume justifies it. Vehicle choice depends on route pattern — a single-drop London-to-Reading run uses an estate car; a 12-practice multi-drop route across the West Midlands uses a Luton van. All vehicles are clean and driver-briefed for careful handling of small fragile consignments (crowns, veneers, ceramic prep models).

We do not operate refrigerated vehicles for dental lab work — the products are stable at UK ambient temperatures and refrigeration would add cost without benefit. Fixed daily-route contracts are common: a lab arranges a consolidated multi-practice pickup route each afternoon; a practice arranges a daily lab drop-off at a set collection time. Named-driver continuity (helpful for reception familiarity and consistent handling); fixed pickup and delivery windows; consolidated monthly invoicing; priority quoting for out-of-cycle overflow when patient appointments change.

What we do not offer
