Chain of custody and paperwork

Every cremated remains consignment is a dedicated single-consignment vehicle — nothing else on board during the journey. This is a service principle, not an upgrade option. Signed POD by the named recipient at hand-off. Photographic POD (timestamped, geo-located) available on request — often requested by funeral directors for their own record-keeping. We provide a chain-of-custody form filled in at collection and signed at delivery — this is the funeral industry standard document format. Where a funeral director has their own bespoke chain-of-custody paperwork, we complete theirs instead. Vehicles and equipment

Our fleet for this service is unmarked ULEZ-compliant vans and estate cars. Vehicle choice depends on distance and driver rest requirements — for a Thames Valley to Aberdeen run we deploy a comfortable long-distance vehicle; for a same-day Manchester-to-Cardiff run a standard van is appropriate. All vehicles are clean, secured, and dedicated to the single consignment for the duration.

For handling equipment we do not need specialist lifts — standard crematorium urns and caskets are hand-carriable. Where a memorial vessel is heavier (some biodegradable water scattering urns can be 8-10 kg with contents), we assign a driver briefed on the specific handling requirements. We do not carry the equipment for interment (spades, ropes) — that's the funeral director's or receiver's responsibility.
