T&C Logistics moves golf clubs between any two UK addresses on a dedicated vehicle — collected from an airport arrivals area, a hotel or a home address and delivered into a course bag drop. A full set of 14 clubs in a travel cover is 15–20 kg and about 130 cm long, which fits a small van. One fixed price from £50 ex VAT, quoted upfront.

Golf clubs break in transit for one reason: they get handled. A travel bag about 130 cm long with 15–20 kg of graphite shafts inside is an oversize item on a parcel network, routed across depot conveyors and stacked under other freight. On a dedicated vehicle it is loaded once, driven once and unloaded once. T&C Logistics collects clubs landside at UK airports, from hotels and from home addresses, and delivers into a course bag drop or pro shop anywhere in the UK, with goods-in-transit cover and one fixed price quoted before you book.

Can a courier move golf clubs between UK addresses?

Yes. A golf travel bag is an ordinary dedicated-van consignment: a full set of 14 clubs with a bag weighs roughly 15–20 kg and a hard or soft travel case runs about 130 cm long, which fits the load length of even a small van. The reason to use a dedicated vehicle rather than a parcel network is not weight but handling — a parcel network sorts a 130 cm item across depot conveyors, and graphite shafts and carbon-crown drivers break at the point of impact, not under load. One vehicle, one job, no depot handovers. See our same-day courier service for the general model.

How many clubs and what weight should I declare?

Declare the full bag, not the clubs individually. Rule 4.1b of the R&A and USGA Rules of Golf limits a player to 14 clubs, so a competition set has a predictable upper bound, and that is what sets the booking profile.

ItemTypical weightTypical dimensions
Full set of 14 clubs, no bag7–10 kgup to 120 cm long
Stand or cart bag with clubs12–16 kgabout 125 cm long
Soft travel cover with clubs15–20 kgabout 130 × 35 × 30 cm
Hard travel case with clubs20–25 kgabout 130 × 40 × 35 cm
Tour bag with clubs18–25 kgabout 130 cm long, wider body

Give us the case type and whether a trolley or push cart travels with it — a trolley changes the vehicle more often than the clubs do.

Which vehicle is used for a golf bag?

A single golf bag travels in a small van; the constraint is load length, not volume.

VehicleCapacityGolf consignment it suits
Small van1.0 cubic metres, 500 kgOne or two bags, one hard case
SWB vanup to 3.0 cubic metresTwo to four bags plus trolleys
LWB vanup to 6.5 cubic metres, 1,000 kgA society or corporate day — eight to twelve bags
Large van13–15 cubic metres, 4–6 palletsFull society outing, buggies excluded

Our small van and large van pages carry the per-vehicle detail.

Can you collect golf clubs from a UK airport?

Yes, landside. The common case is a passenger who has landed with their clubs and does not want to carry them onward: we meet you in the arrivals area or at a terminal car park and take the bag on to a hotel, a course or a home address. We work landside only — we do not hold airside credentials and do not claim them. Where a bag has gone astray in the airline system, the airline's baggage handler releases it to you or your nominated collector, and we move it from that point onward. Our Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester Airport pages cover terminal access, and the airport golf collection scenario goes into the handover in detail.

What happens if an airline loses or delays my clubs?

Delayed baggage is released to the passenger or a nominated collector once the airline traces it, which is frequently a day or more after the flight — by which time the player has travelled on to the course or the hotel. That is the gap a dedicated courier closes: the bag is collected from the airline's baggage office and driven to wherever you now are, rather than waiting for a courier contracted to the airline. You retain the airline claim; we move the bag. Airline liability for delayed and damaged baggage is governed by the Montreal Convention and the airline's own conditions of carriage; the Civil Aviation Authority passenger guidance explains the passenger side.

How should clubs be packed for road transport?

Follow these five steps and the bag arrives in the condition it left in. (1) Fit head covers to every wood and the putter — crown damage is the most common claim. (2) Invert the longest club, or use a support rod, so the shafts cannot take a point load through the top of the bag. (3) Empty the side pockets of anything loose: tees, markers and a rangefinder in a pocket become projectiles. (4) Remove the trolley wheels or declare the trolley separately. (5) Zip and lock the cover and photograph the bag before handover, which is the evidence that matters if a claim is ever made. For high-value sets see high-value courier.

Are golf clubs insured in transit?

Goods in transit are insured to £50,000 on our own vehicles and up to £1,000,000 where a consignment moves via partner carriers, with public liability cover of £1,000,000. A premium set of 14 clubs sits well inside that limit, but declare the value at booking rather than after: cover terms, conditions, exclusions and the claims process are set out in our terms and conditions. Unlike an airline, where liability for checked baggage is capped by convention and spread across every item in the hold, a dedicated road movement is one consignment on one vehicle with a named driver, so the chain of custody is a single line rather than a sequence of handovers.

What does it cost to move golf clubs in the UK?

One fixed price per dedicated job, quoted in full before you book, from £50 ex VAT, with fuel and goods-in-transit cover included and no hidden fees. The cost drivers for a golf consignment differ from an ordinary parcel.

Cost driverEffect on a golf booking
Distance between the two addressesThe largest single factor on any dedicated job
Number of bagsDecides small van against LWB or large van
Airport or hotel collectionTerminal access and waiting at a reception desk take longer than a kerbside handover
Timing and urgencySame-day costs more than a planned next-day collection
Out-of-hours and weekendTee times fall at weekends, which is when courses need the bags
Waiting timeA bag not yet released by an airline baggage office means the driver waits
Return legClubs going back after the round can often be priced as a round trip
London chargesCongestion Charge £15 per day; ULEZ £12.50 per day for a non-compliant vehicle, and our fleet is compliant

See pricing for the general model.

Can you deliver clubs directly to a golf club or resort?

Yes, and the practical constraint is the receiving end rather than the drive. A golf club pro shop or bag drop needs a named person to sign, and many clubs will not accept a delivery for a visitor who has not yet arrived unless the booking is confirmed with them first. Give us the club name, the contact at the pro shop and your tee date, and we deliver into the bag drop or the pro shop rather than a loading bay. The same applies in reverse for a resort: a concierge will hold a bag only against a reservation in the guest's name.

How is this different from sending clubs by parcel carrier?

Three differences decide it. A parcel network charges by weight band and treats a 130 cm bag as an oversize item with a surcharge, then routes it through automated sorting; a dedicated van charges one price for the vehicle and never puts the bag on a conveyor. A parcel network gives a delivery day; a dedicated van gives a journey you can follow, which matters when a tee time is fixed. And a parcel network needs the item boxed to its packaging standard, whereas a travel cover is sufficient for a dedicated vehicle. Our same-day versus next-day comparison sets out the trade-off, and sports equipment covers the wider category.

Do you move other golf equipment and society kit?

Yes. Beyond bags, the regular items are electric trolleys and their lithium batteries, push carts, launch monitors and rangefinders, and branded prize and hospitality stock for a society day. Lithium trolley batteries are the one item with its own rules: a lithium-ion battery is classified under UN3480 when shipped alone and UN3481 when packed with or contained in equipment, and our drivers hold ADR dangerous-goods licences for that class. Leave the battery fitted to the trolley where you can — it travels as UN3481 and the handling is simpler. Detail on our lithium battery courier page.

How do I book a golf club collection?

Four steps, and the first decides the vehicle. (1) Tell us how many bags, the case type and whether a trolley travels with them. (2) Give the collection point — a home address, a hotel, or an airport terminal and the arrivals area — and the delivery address with a named contact at the receiving end. (3) Give the date you need the clubs there, working back from your tee time rather than from the flight. (4) Receive one fixed price covering the vehicle, the driver and the insurance, quoted before you commit. Enquiries are accepted around the clock and answered between 06:00 and 22:00, seven days a week. Start at the quote form, or message us on WhatsApp if you are abroad and calling a UK number is awkward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my golf clubs fit in a small van?
Yes. A travel cover with a full set runs about 130 cm long and weighs 15 to 20 kg, and a small van offers 1.0 cubic metres with a 500 kg payload and enough internal length to take the bag flat. The binding dimension is length, not volume, so a single bag almost never needs a larger vehicle. Two bags plus trolleys is the point at which an SWB or LWB van becomes the sensible choice.
Can you collect my clubs from the baggage office after a delayed flight?
Yes, once the airline has traced the bag and released it to you or a nominated collector. We collect landside from the baggage office or the arrivals area and drive the bag to wherever you have travelled on to. We do not hold airside credentials, so the release has to come through the airline's own handler first. Your claim against the airline is unaffected by using us to move the bag afterwards.
Do I need a hard case, or is a soft travel cover enough?
A soft cover is sufficient for a dedicated road movement, because the bag is not sorted, stacked or conveyed. A hard case earns its weight on a flight, where the hold is loaded mechanically and the bag sits under other baggage. For road transport the more useful precautions are head covers on every wood, a support rod or inverted long club, and empty side pockets.
Can you move an electric trolley with its lithium battery?
Yes. Leave the battery fitted to the trolley where possible: a lithium-ion battery contained in equipment is classified UN3481, which is simpler to handle than UN3480 for a battery shipped on its own. Our drivers hold ADR dangerous-goods licences covering that class. Tell us the battery capacity at booking, and do not send a battery that is damaged, swollen or subject to a manufacturer recall.
Can clubs be delivered straight to a course for a tee time?
Yes, into the bag drop or the pro shop rather than a loading bay, provided the club will accept a delivery in your name. Many will not hold a bag for a visitor who has not yet arrived unless the booking is confirmed with them in advance. Give us the club name, a pro shop contact and your tee date, and work the collection time back from the tee time rather than from your flight.
Can I arrange a UK golf club delivery from outside the UK?
Yes, and a movement between two UK addresses is domestic, so there is no customs declaration, no import duty and no EORI number involved regardless of where you are booking from. We take the booking by WhatsApp, email or the quote form and invoice a non-UK card or bank transfer. See our guide to arranging a UK delivery from overseas for how payment, authorisation and the receiving contact work.
