T&C Logistics meets you landside in a UK airport arrivals area, takes your golf bag and drives it to your hotel, course or home address. We also collect clubs released late by an airline baggage office after delayed baggage. A travel cover with 14 clubs is 15–20 kg and about 130 cm long — a small van job. One fixed price from £50 ex VAT.

Specialist transport — UK sector context

Golf Clubs Collected from a UK Airport typically involves the sectors below. Companies House counts give a sense of the UK market we can dispatch to — same-day.

Landing with golf clubs creates one of two problems. Either the bag arrived and you now have to move 20 kg of it across a city to a hotel or a course you are not driving to, or it did not arrive and the airline will release it a day later when you are already at the first tee. Both are road jobs, not airline jobs. T&C Logistics collects landside from UK airport arrivals areas and from airline baggage offices, and delivers to hotels, resorts and course bag drops with goods-in-transit cover and one fixed price agreed before the driver moves.

Where exactly does the handover happen at a UK airport?

Landside, in the arrivals hall or an adjacent short-stay car park, never airside. Our driver meets you after you clear the baggage hall; we have no airside access and do not claim any. Terminal forecourts at the larger UK airports are drop-off-only with enforced waiting limits, so a short-stay car park bay is usually the practical meeting point for anything bulkier than a briefcase. Give us your terminal and flight number at booking so the driver tracks the arrival rather than the scheduled time. Terminal detail sits on our Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester Airport pages.

What if the airline has not released my clubs yet?

Then the collection waits on the airline, not on us. A delayed golf bag is traced and released by the carrier's own baggage handler to the passenger or a nominated collector, and that can be the following day. We collect from the baggage office once it is released and drive the bag to wherever you have travelled on to. Two practical points: the authority to release has to be arranged by you with the airline, and your claim against the carrier is unaffected by using a courier afterwards. Passenger rights on delayed and damaged baggage are summarised by the Civil Aviation Authority.

Which terminals and airports do you cover?

All UK airports with a public arrivals area. The ones that generate most golf collections are the ones with transatlantic and European leisure traffic.

GatwickNorth, SouthSussex and Kent courses, Brighton hotels
ManchesterT1, T2, T3Cheshire and North Wales courses

Glasgow / PrestwickSingle terminal eachAyrshire links courses

Scottish links traffic is the clearest seasonal pattern: a bag landing at Edinburgh is usually going east or into Fife rather than into the city.

Why not just take a taxi with the clubs?

A taxi is licensed to carry passengers and the luggage they travel with; it is not a goods carrier and does not hold goods-in-transit insurance on your property. That distinction only matters when something goes wrong, which is exactly when it matters. The other difference is separation: a courier moves the bag while you travel separately, so you can take a train to the course or go straight to a meeting rather than routing yourself around your own luggage. Where you and the bag travel together, a taxi is the cheaper answer and we will say so.

How soon after landing can the clubs be at a hotel or course?

Once the bag is in our driver's hands it is an ordinary road job, so the honest answer is the drive time plus loading. Heathrow to a central London hotel is a short urban run; Edinburgh to East Lothian is under an hour of driving; Manchester to a North Wales resort is a longer leg. What governs same-day arrival is not our speed but when you clear the baggage hall — an early-morning arrival puts the bag at the hotel the same morning, a late-evening arrival normally means a next-morning delivery to the course. We quote against the flight, not against a promise.

Can the clubs go straight to the first tee?

To the bag drop or pro shop, yes, provided the club will accept a delivery in your name. Many clubs will not hold a bag for a visitor who has not yet checked in unless the delivery is agreed with them in advance, and a pro shop needs a named person to sign. Give us the club name, a pro shop contact and the tee date, and we work the collection back from the tee time rather than from the flight. Resorts hold bags against a reservation in the guest's name only.

What does an airport golf collection cost?

One fixed price per dedicated job, quoted in full before you book, from £50 ex VAT, fuel and goods-in-transit cover included, no hidden fees. The drivers of cost on an airport job differ from a kerbside collection.

Cost driverWhy it matters at an airport
Distance to the onward addressThe largest single factor
Waiting timeA flight clears the baggage hall when it clears it

Are the clubs insured from the moment of handover?

Yes. Goods in transit are insured to £50,000 on our own vehicles and up to £1,000,000 where a consignment moves via partner carriers, with public liability cover of £1,000,000. Cover begins at handover, which is why the driver photographs the bag and its condition when he takes it. Declare a high-value or custom-fitted set at booking rather than afterwards. Cover terms, exclusions and the claims process are in our terms and conditions.

How do I book an airport golf collection?

Five steps. (1) Give the airport, terminal and flight number, so the driver tracks the actual arrival. (2) Say how many bags and whether a trolley travels with them. (3) Give the delivery address with a named contact — a hotel concierge, a pro shop, or a private address. (4) Confirm whether you are meeting the driver or the bag is coming from the airline baggage office, because the second needs the airline's release arranged first. (5) Receive one fixed price before the job is accepted. Enquiries are taken around the clock and answered between 06:00 and 22:00, seven days a week — use the quote form, or WhatsApp if you are landing from abroad.

What else do travellers ask us to collect at arrivals?

The same handover works for anything a passenger would rather not carry onward: ski and snowboard bags, bicycles in travel cases, musical instruments, trade-show samples and hospitality stock. The constraint is always load length rather than weight — a bike box and a golf travel cover are the two items that most often decide the vehicle. Can someone else collect the clubs on my behalf?

Yes, and for a bag still held by an airline this is usually how it works. A nominated collector needs your written authority and the baggage reference, both arranged with the airline rather than with us — a handler will not release a bag to a driver on a verbal instruction. Where the bag is already in your hands, no authority is needed: you hand it over and sign the consignment note. For a hotel handover the concierge signs, and we recommend naming the driver with the hotel in advance.

How does this differ from the airline's own baggage delivery?

An airline's delayed-baggage service is a courier contracted by the carrier, scheduled around the carrier's backlog and routed to the address on the baggage report. Three consequences follow. The delivery window is theirs, not yours, and on a busy day it is measured in days rather than hours. The address is the one you gave at the baggage desk, so a change of hotel or a move to the course means re-filing. And the bag travels as one item among many on a multi-drop round. A dedicated collection inverts all three: you choose the time, the address can change up to the moment the driver leaves, and one vehicle carries one job. Use the airline route when the timing suits you; it costs you nothing.

Can you hold the clubs if I am not ready to receive them?

Short holds are possible, and the practical alternative is usually better. A hotel concierge will store a bag against a reservation in the guest's name at no charge, which is cheaper than paying a vehicle to wait, so where you are checking in later that day we deliver into storage and the hotel holds it. Where there is no hotel yet — an early arrival before a resort check-in, for example — tell us at booking and we quote the holding time explicitly rather than letting waiting time accumulate against the job. What we do not do is leave a bag unattended at a reception desk without a signature; the consignment note needs a named person at the receiving end, which is also what protects the insurance.

Which documents travel with an airport golf collection?

Three, and only one of them is ours. The consignment note is generated by us and signed at both ends; it is the record that fixes when custody passed and in what condition. The airline baggage reference matters only where the bag is coming out of a baggage office, because the handler releases against that reference and your written authority, not against our paperwork. And a photograph of the bag at handover, taken by the driver, is the practical evidence in any claim — worth taking yourself as well before you hand it over. Nothing customs-related applies: a movement between two UK addresses is domestic, with no declaration and no duty, whatever passport you arrived on.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have airside access to collect clubs from the aircraft?
No. T&C works landside only and holds no airside credentials, so a bag comes to us either from your own hands in the arrivals area or from the airline's baggage office after the carrier has released it. Anyone offering to collect golf clubs airside at a UK airport is describing something a courier cannot do without CAA-regulated access and a vehicle permit, neither of which we claim.
Where will the driver meet me at Heathrow or Gatwick?
In the arrivals hall or, for a bulky bag, a short-stay car park bay, because terminal forecourts at the larger UK airports are drop-off-only with enforced waiting limits. Give the terminal and flight number at booking and the driver tracks the actual arrival rather than the schedule. At Heathrow that means naming T2, T3, T4 or T5; at Gatwick, North or South.
My clubs were delayed. Can you collect them when the airline finds them?
Yes. Once the carrier traces the bag and releases it to you or a nominated collector, we pick it up from the baggage office and drive it to wherever you have travelled on to. You arrange the release authority and the baggage reference with the airline; a handler will not release a bag to a driver on a verbal instruction. Your claim against the carrier is unaffected.
Can the bag be delivered to the golf club rather than my hotel?
Yes, into the bag drop or pro shop, provided the club accepts a delivery in your name and you give us a pro shop contact. Many clubs will not hold a bag for a visitor who has not yet checked in. We work the collection time back from your tee date rather than from the flight, which is the opposite of how most people describe the job when they first call.
Is it cheaper to pay airline excess baggage or to use a courier?
They answer different problems. Excess baggage gets the clubs onto your flight; a courier moves them once they are in the UK, between two addresses the airline does not serve. The comparison worth making is against a taxi or a hire car for the onward leg, where the courier difference is goods-in-transit cover on your property and the ability to travel separately from your bag.
Can a colleague or the hotel concierge hand the clubs over instead of me?
Yes. For a hotel collection the concierge hands over and signs the consignment note, and we recommend naming the driver with the hotel in advance so the bag is released without a phone call. For a bag still held by an airline, a nominated collector needs your written authority and the baggage reference, arranged with the carrier rather than with us.
